Like many of you, I log onto Facebook simply out of boredom. There is no easier way to receive your daily dose of both instant gratification and instant frustration. Talking about Facebook is a different blog entirely and we won’t get into all that right now.

I will say today was a banner day for my Facebook feed. Many of my friends had unusually entertaining posts. I figured I would give you all the best so you can post them onto your Facebook instead of that picture of your kid or dinner, or you drinking wine, or you drinking wine whilst feeding your kid dinner. You get it.

Here are my Facebook Highlights….

1. Weather… Ummm Hell No.

2. This Guy AGAIN.

3. I Wonder What My Parent’s Would’ve Done With An iPhone.

4. When You’d Thought You’d Seen It All

5. This Confuses Me But I Like It

6. More Awesome Ideas I Will Never Be Able To Duplicate.

7. Ukraine Got Talent… Or Ukraine’s Got Talent. Either Way, Home Girl Got Talent.

8. Instant Gratification.

9. Farts and such…

9.5 Woah. Finally. I’ve Been Inventing A Version Of This For 15 Years!

10. Predictable, yet poignant.

10.5 MY FAVORITE.

So you see Facebook can be a very interesting thing, but it can also steal your life.

So there’s that.

I’m starting to think there are too many people in this world. Slash that, I KNOW there are too many people in this world. I’m not saying I don’t think everyone is unique and special and precious and all that jazz, I’m simply saying we could use a plague.

Overpopulation

Honestly, there are so many people that we are starting to look alike. Doppelgangers springing up everywhere!

It’s easy to start thinking the world is small when you go to the same job, using the same route, eat at the same restaurants, and spend time on Facebook day after day. These things aren’t wrong but they can start to give us a false sense of reality. I’m serious about the Facebook one. Has anyone else experienced this? When two friends from the most distant corners of my past will be friends or “like” each others baby photos. I’m all, “How could those people possibly know each other.” Weird.

I got sidetracked there… ah… yes… OVERPOPULATION.

I went ahead an put the link right there for you. If you click on the word overpopulation ^ and it doesn’t cause a little bit of a panic in you then, well, you’re probably a normal, well adjusted person unlike me.

Maybe I’ve watched too many movies like World War ZOutbreakContagion28 Days LaterChildren of MenI Am Legend, and so on. I’m just fascinated by pandemics, epidemics, syndemics, academics (j/k slipped that one in there to keep you on your toes) just any apocalyptic type of event. And when I say fascinated I mean terrified. Whenever I see masses of people I just see this…

makes you wonder why they build houses any other way.

I don’t really know where I’m headed with this blog. Babies are cute, maybe just have less? I don’t know.

This person seems to have one solution…

Happy Anniversary!

Uncategorized

So we just completed a fun little project for some old friends that turned out to be a rather funny story…

About 2 weeks ago, an old friend, Matt, sent us a message through our Etsy shop where he asked about getting a custom designed print to give his wife for their five year anniversary.  Their wedding being a bit blurry by now, it was hard to believe that it had already been five years.   While it was great just to hear from our old friend, we were even more excited to help him with this cool little project as well.  So as we were hashing out what we wanted to use for his gift (being foodies, we decided on the names of the restaurants at which they had memorable meals) – I then got a Facebook message from Amy (Matt’s wife) asking for a custom piece to give Matt for their Anniversary.  My first reaction was similar to that of:  “Oh, s**t, what if they want the same thing… who’s bubble do I have to burst?”  Then, I calmly let her lead the way, which worked out great as she decided to go with one of our vintage book page designs featuring their wedding song – “Happy Everafter in Your Eyes” by Ben Harper – so I was immediately subdued in my freak out and decided this is going to actually work out.

So, to make it even more freaky Friday, they both even went so far as to order their final designs as 18×24 canvases.  Two people couldn’t be any more perfect for eachother… I mean, really… as they say great minds think a like and I know they got a little chuckle when they exchanged gifts realizing that they had essentially thought of the same exact gift (I know this because, as expected, I got an email to let me know how funny it was).  Adorbs.

Social Media

June, Uncategorized

Social media for Chikpea Graphics is watched over by Lindsey St. Onge (me, new to Chikpea Graphics). I keep all social media up to date and make sure Twitter, FaceBook, and this blog all reflect the creative design skills held by Raygan Ketterer and the beautiful products she creates. Today is my first day setting up the blog and it is looking good so far, if I do say so myself. Being 22 years old, I have some, or rather a lot, of experience in social media. Updating is what I do! Be sure to stay tuned for more pictures and another post today. A photographer will be coming to shoot some pictures of the home design studio and I have a feeling they will look amazing!
